I am so excited to announce our most recent project in which Pencils and Erasers will donate 20,000 rupees to Barikot Higher Secondary School in Swat, Pakistan. This donation will aid in the purchasing of school supplies for children coming from impoverished and disenfranchised families.

The funds will aid in providing for school uniforms, purchasing supplies and decreasing transportation costs to schools Because of a lack of time as I had to go back for my studies, I did not have the time to fundraise and decided to personally donate the entirety of the funds.

The target of 21,000 Rupees was given to me by the the principal, who said it was necessary to have the most at risk students of dropping out stay in school. These students were finding it impossible to find funds for themselves and thus could not afford the cost of the uniform and transportation to the school.

9 students in grades 2-9 will be kept in school as a result of this donation as the burden to provide for them to attain an education will be lifted from their families. We can do much more when we get together, fundraise, advocate for these students and fight for their inherent right to education.

Watch the video below to hear the full speech in which I pledge the funds! The money will be transferred in two days and will also be accompanied by an announcement!
